Let me tell you about this REOLINK doorbell camera that's been guarding my front door for weeks now. The first thing that struck me was its unique vertical orientation (12x16 aspect ratio) - it's like having a basketball player standing guard, capturing everything from delivery guys' faces to packages at my feet.
The PoE setup is GENIUS. One Ethernet cable handles both power and data - no more messy wiring or hunting for power outlets near your door. I literally plugged it in and it worked instantly (though tech newbies might want to watch a setup video first).
That 5MP resolution? Crystal clear. I can spot porch pirates' shoelaces at midnight thanks to the night vision and spotlight combo. The package detection has saved three of my Amazon deliveries already - my phone buzzes the second something appears at the door.
Now the not-so-perfect parts: The NVR integration feels like it's stuck in 2018. If you're a smart home geek like me wanting Home Assistant alerts, prepare for some disappointment. Also, that tall aspect ratio means side-to-side coverage isn't as wide as some competitors.
Would I buy it again? Absolutely - especially if you hate monthly fees and love simple setups. Just don't expect cutting-edge smart home integration... yet.
