Let me start by saying, I've been using these PLUMAGEpp feeding tubes for about a month now in my 20-gallon shrimp tank. The transparency is fantastic - they practically disappear in the water, which is great for maintaining that natural aquarium aesthetic.
The glass quality is decent, though I did notice some slight rippling in one of my tubes (just like another reviewer mentioned). It doesn't affect functionality, but if you're super particular about perfect clarity, this might bug you.
Here's where things get tricky: installing these bad boys. You'll need Hulk-like fingers to snap the tubes into those suction cups! I literally had to submerge my entire forearm to get enough leverage. Not ideal when you're trying to avoid disturbing your tank's ecosystem.
On the plus side, the flared design works wonders at keeping food contained. My cherry shrimp love congregating around it, and cleanup is a breeze - just lift out the whole assembly. The separate tray and tube design actually grew on me; it allows more flexibility in positioning.
Major warning though: check your package immediately! Like one unfortunate buyer, I was missing a suction cup patch in my initial delivery. Customer service made it right eventually, but it was an annoying delay.
The suction power is impressive once everything's set up. Even my most enthusiastic fish can't knock these loose during feeding frenzies. Just be aware that if your tank has a lip (like biOrb tanks), dropping food into the tube becomes an awkward acrobatic challenge.
Bottom line? These get the job done at a reasonable price point, but they're not without their quirks. If you don't mind wrestling with installation and potentially dealing with customer service for missing parts, they're a functional solution for controlled feeding.
