Let me start by saying this Vine Smart Thermostat looks absolutely stunning with its 4-inch color touchscreen. The auto-brightness feature is a nice touch - no more blinding light when checking the temperature at 3 AM! Installation was surprisingly smooth (though I did watch that YouTube tutorial twice), and the app connectivity works like a charm for remote adjustments.
However... that temperature accuracy issue is REAL. Like several reviewers mentioned, mine consistently reads about 4 degrees higher than actual room temperature. I've resorted to keeping a separate thermometer nearby because I simply don't trust the display anymore. The child lock failure is another weird quirk - my toddler somehow still manages to change settings despite the supposedly 'locked' screen.
On the positive side, the scheduling features are fantastic. Being able to program different temperatures for workdays vs weekends has saved me about 15% on my energy bill. Voice control through Alexa works well for basic on/off commands, though I agree it's frustrating you can't adjust specific temperatures verbally.
Would I recommend it? Maybe... if you're tech-savvy enough to work around its quirks and don't mind some temperature discrepancies. But if precision climate control is your top priority, you might want to keep shopping around.
