Let me start by saying, the AKASO Brave 4 Elite is a game-changer for casual adventurers like me who want quality without breaking the bank. I've taken this little powerhouse on kayaking trips, bike rides, and even snorkeling adventures – and it hasn't disappointed.
The 4K60fps video is surprisingly crisp for the price point. While it's not GoPro-level perfection, the footage holds up remarkably well when I share clips with friends. The 20MP photos are sharp enough for social media, though I did notice some noise in low-light conditions.
What really won me over was the built-in 64GB storage. No more frantic searches for SD cards before heading out! The waterproof design (33ft without housing) gave me peace of mind during water activities, though I did double-check the seals every time.
The dual-screen setup is brilliant for framing shots – whether I'm taking selfies or capturing action scenes. The touchscreen can be finicky when wet (learned that the hard way), but overall it's responsive.
Battery life is decent but not amazing. I got about 90 minutes of continuous 4K recording per charge. The included accessories are surprisingly robust – especially love the wrist remote that lets me control the camera while it's mounted on my bike.
Now for the big downside: that Akaso GO app is rough. It crashes constantly and transfers files at a snail's pace. I've resorted to pulling the memory card out for editing instead.
Bottom line? If you're a pro videographer, keep saving for a GoPro. But if you want an affordable action cam that delivers solid performance for weekend adventures, the Brave 4 Elite is absolutely worth considering.
