Let me start by saying this machine has potential, but it's far from perfect. The fingerprint recognition is impressively fast when it works - we're talking under a second for successful scans. In our small office of 15 people, most employees could clock in smoothly after the initial fingerprint registration.
The setup was indeed simple as advertised. I had it running in about 10 minutes without needing any technical support. The physical build feels sturdy enough for daily office use, and the optical sensor seems durable despite frequent use.
However, here's where things get frustrating. About 30% of our team experienced recognition issues - some needing 5-6 attempts before successful scan. The promised Excel export feature? Complete hit or miss. When it works, the FAT32-formatted USB exports clean attendance reports. But half the time we get empty sheets or password-protected files with no documentation on how to access them.
Customer service is another pain point based on my experience and other reviews. When we reached out about the Excel issues, responses were slow and unhelpful. For a $100+ device, I expected better support.
If you need basic attendance tracking and don't mind manual record-keeping as backup, this might work temporarily. But for reliable, automated attendance systems, I'd recommend investing in a more established brand despite the higher cost.
