If you're a fan of the classic comedy 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles,' this book is an absolute gem. The moment I held it in my hands, I felt like I was holding a piece of movie history. The cover design instantly took me back to that iconic airport scene where John Candy flips through its pages.
The trivia inside is mind-blowing! Did you know Edie McClurg improvised her famous 'Marie, you're such a stitch' line about ambrosia? These little behind-the-scenes nuggets make rewatching the film even more enjoyable. I found myself constantly pausing my next viewing to shout 'Hey, I read about that in the book!'
What surprised me most was how this works both for superfans and newcomers. My cousin who'd never seen the movie picked it up during Thanksgiving and became an instant fan - we ended up watching the film together right after!
The size is perfect too - small enough to carry on trips (I'm definitely bringing mine to Chicago like another reviewer mentioned) but substantial enough to feel like a proper collectible. It's become my go-to conversation starter when friends spot it on my coffee table.
My only tiny critique? I wish there were more photos from the set. But honestly, at this price point with so much fascinating content, that's barely worth mentioning. This book has earned its place alongside my DVD copy as essential PT&A memorabilia.
