After using the MoesGo Smart WiFi Power Dimmer Plug for several weeks, I've got some strong opinions about this little gadget. Let me break it down for you.
The Good: The setup process was surprisingly smooth - it popped right up in my Tuya app within seconds. Voice control through Alexa works like a charm ("Alexa, dim the bedroom lamp to 30%" actually feels magical). I love using it for my string lights on the patio - being able to adjust brightness from my phone while lounging outside is a game-changer.
The Not-So-Good: Dimming performance is inconsistent at best. While it works okay with some of my LED bulbs, others just flicker annoyingly at lower settings. The dimming range feels more like three preset levels (low, medium, high) rather than true 0-100% control. And yes, it does partially block the outlet above it - not ideal if you're tight on space.
Real-World Use: Where this plug really shines is as a simple smart switch for lamps and non-dimmable devices. I've got mine scheduled to turn on my entryway lights at sunset, creating that "someone's home" look when I'm away. The timer function works reliably, and the ability to share control with family members through the app is super convenient.
Final Verdict: If you need basic smart plug functionality with occasional dimming capability (and have compatible bulbs), this could work for you. But serious home automation enthusiasts might want to look elsewhere for more precise dimming control.
