Let's talk about the Hoolerry Oil Absorbent Pads. I've used these in my garage for minor oil spills and drips during DIY car maintenance. The 100-pack is definitely a plus - you won't run out quickly, and at this price point, that's important.
The pads absorb oil decently for small spills (think oil changes or minor leaks). They're thin - like really thin - comparable to a few sheets of paper stacked together. While they work okay for containing small messes, don't expect them to handle major spills.
Here's the weird part: water behaves strangely with these pads. Some areas absorb while others repel it completely, making them unreliable for water-based spills. They're also surprisingly slippery when wet - I nearly took a tumble in my garage!
For basic oil absorption on a budget, they get the job done. But if you need serious spill control or dual oil/water absorption, you might want to invest in higher-quality mats like the PIG brand mentioned in other reviews.
Bottom line: Fine for occasional light use if you're watching your wallet, but temper your expectations on performance and versatility.
