Let me start by saying I had high hopes for this Tuya-enabled access control system. The promise of managing 10,000 users with multiple verification modes (RFID, password, or both) through a smartphone app sounded perfect for my small office building.
The installation was straightforward - the IP68 waterproof rating gave me confidence to mount it outdoors. The touchscreen panel looks sleek and modern, though I noticed fingerprints show up easily. The backlight is bright enough for nighttime use, which is a nice touch.
Where things fell apart was the Wi-Fi connectivity. Like several reviewers mentioned, maintaining a stable connection was frustratingly difficult. Even when placed close to my router (I tried 5 ft as suggested), the device would frequently go offline. This completely defeats the purpose of remote access through the Tuya app.
The mobile app itself is decent when it works - available in English and Chinese with clear unlock records. However, as others pointed out, there's no way to manage users or PINs directly on the keypad if the app isn't working. This became a major headache during Wi-Fi outages.
The included key fobs work reliably (I tested all 10), but I encountered the same issue where one became impossible to remove from the system. The documentation provided is indeed minimal - I had to figure out most features through trial and error.
For outdoor use, while it's waterproof, I'd recommend additional weather protection as extreme temperatures seemed to affect performance. The doorbell button is handy but quite basic in functionality.
Bottom line: When everything works, it's a convenient system with good potential. But reliability issues with connectivity and lack of local management options make it hard to fully recommend unless Tuya addresses these problems in future updates.
