Let me start by saying this lamp is an absolute stunner in terms of design. The orange acrylic shade casts this gorgeous warm glow that instantly transforms any room into a cozy haven. I placed mine next to my reading nook, and the arc design perfectly curves over my armchair - it's like having my personal spotlight!
The assembly was surprisingly easy (though I agree with other reviewers that instructions would've been nice). The marble base is heavier than I expected, which gives excellent stability. No wobbling even when my cat decides it's a new climbing post!
Now for the not-so-great parts: That beautiful orange shade? It's thin plastic, not glass as some product descriptions suggest. At $169, I definitely expected higher quality materials. Also, while the adjustable height is great in theory, I nearly put a dent in my ceiling figuring out the right position.
The foot switch placement is awkward if you have furniture nearby - I find myself doing awkward toe yoga to turn it on sometimes. And while the retro look is charming, the mix of materials (silver pole + orange plastic + marble base) does feel a bit disjointed.
Would I recommend it? If you catch it on sale and love the unique look - yes. At full price? Only if you're head-over-heels for that mid-century aesthetic and are willing to overlook some quality compromises.
