Let me start by saying this Hamilton Beach slow cooker is a BEAST—in the best way possible. As someone who regularly cooks for big family gatherings (or in my case, a small army of cats), the 10-quart capacity is a game-changer. I’ve stuffed it with a 10-lb turkey, giant roasts, and even enough chili to feed my entire neighborhood. The space? Unmatched.
The lid-lock feature is my MVP. I’ve hauled this thing to potlucks, tailgates, and even across bumpy roads—zero spills. The full-grip handles make carrying easy, though when fully loaded, it does get heavy (but hey, that’s physics).
Cooking is idiot-proof: just twist the dial between Low/High/Warm. No fancy digital screens to fuss with—though I do wish it had an "on" indicator light for safety. My short ribs cooked for 9 hours on Low came out fall-off-the-bone perfect.
Cleanup? A dream. The stoneware crock and glass lid go straight into the dishwasher (though I cheat with crockpot liners). One gripe: the outer shell feels flimsy and dents easily. Also, the cord’s shorter than I’d like.
After 4 years of abuse—including what I suspect was one too many granite-counter landings—mine finally cracked. Guess what? I’m buying the exact same model again. At ~$14/year of service? Worth every penny.
