I recently installed the 30FT Cat6 Outdoor Ethernet Cable to connect my home office to a backyard shed where I set up a surveillance system. Right off the bat, the cable felt sturdy—the UV-protected jacket gave me confidence it could handle the elements.
Laying it was a breeze. I dug a shallow trench (about 6 inches deep), and the cable laid flat without kinks. The included cable ties were clutch for securing it neatly along fences. After burying it, I barely noticed it was there—no bulky, awkward loops.
Performance? Flawless. My PoE cameras get a rock-solid connection, and latency is nonexistent even when streaming 4K footage. Indoors, it works just as well—I tested it with my gaming setup (PS5 and PC), and there’s zero lag or dropouts.
One thing I appreciate: versatility. It’s backward compatible with older Cat5e devices, so I didn’t need adapters for my older router. And yeah, the weatherproofing holds up—we’ve had heavy rain and blistering sun, but no signal degradation or jacket cracking.
Small gripe: The CCA (copper-clad aluminum) conductors might not be as robust as pure copper for super-long runs, but for 30FT? Perfectly fine. If you’re debating burial vs. aerial, this cable handles both—I hung a section along a fence as a test, and it didn’t sag or degrade.
Bottom line: For outdoor/indoor hybrid setups, this is a no-brainer. It’s affordable, tough, and just works. Two thumbs up from me!
