Okay, so I finally installed this Broan-NuTone heater/fan combo in my bathroom after weeks of procrastination. Here's the real deal:
First off - the heat is NO JOKE with those infrared bulbs. I was skeptical at first, but stepping out of the shower into actual warmth? Game changer. Though fair warning, you definitely need both bulbs to feel proper heat.
The fan is surprisingly quiet compared to my old dinosaur unit. At 70 CFM it handles steam well unless you're taking marathon baths (looking at you, teenage son). The white grille looks sleek and modern - got compliments from everyone who's seen it.
Now the installation... yikes. The wiring diagram might as well have been hieroglyphics. Had to call in an electrician friend to decode the color wires (Black/Yellow for heat, Blue for fan, etc.). And good luck if your ceiling joists aren't perfectly spaced - we had to do some creative cutting.
Pro tip: Position this unit away from your mirror lights unless you want to look like a ghost in your own bathroom. Four feet back from the wall seems perfect.
Would I buy again? Absolutely - but only if you're ready for some DIY challenges or can afford an electrician. Just don't be like me and break that flimsy damper door in the attic!
