Just finished reading this masterpiece and wow - García Márquez does it again! The way he blends magical realism with colonial critique is simply breathtaking.
What struck me most was how Servia María's story mirrors society's tendency to demonize what it doesn't understand. That copper-haired girl with her magical hair will stay with me forever!
As a Spanish learner, I found the language surprisingly accessible despite the rich vocabulary. The sentences flow like poetry - definitely helped improve my comprehension skills.
The book arrived in perfect condition (though I wish it had been hardcover). Packaging was secure and delivery was faster than expected. 10/10 would recommend both the story and this seller!
Pro tip: Read this before visiting Cartagena - it'll make the colonial architecture come alive with hidden meanings!
