Okay, so I’ve been using the Umbra Otto for a few months now, and here’s the tea.
First off, the design? Sleek. Matte black fits my bathroom aesthetic like it was made for it. The touchless feature is a game-changer—no more grimy fingerprints on my soap dispenser. Plus, that 0.2-second dispensing speed? *Chef’s kiss.*
But… (yep, there’s a but). Battery drama alert! Learned the hard way that not all batteries are created equal. Duracell? Nope. Energizer? Saved my sanity. If the voltage’s even slightly off, this thing throws a tantrum and refuses to work. Pro tip: Keep spare Energizers on deck.
Soap compatibility is another thing. Clear, watery soaps = flawless. Thick or milky ones? Clog city. Had to dilute mine with water (annoying but effective). Also, clean the nozzle regularly—unless you enjoy playing ‘why won’t you work??’ at 7 AM.
Some folks got duds (RIP their patience), but mine’s been solid. Bonus: My cat thinks the whirring sound is her personal ASMR. Would I buy again? For $30-ish, yeah—but only if Bed Bath & Beyond resurrects their warranty program.
