I recently tried the HTONG 4PCS Aquarium Nematode Feeder cones in my freshwater tanks, hoping for a neat solution to feed bloodworms. The white plastic cones looked promising with their suction cup attachments, but reality didn't quite match expectations.
First off, the product images showed frozen bloodworms perfectly contained in the cone - but in actual use, thawed worms just pooled at the base. My fish went into a frenzy trying to get at them, but couldn't actually eat anything because the holes are ridiculously small. It was like watching kids trying to get candy from a vending machine that won't dispense - pure frustration!
On the plus side, you do get four decent-quality cones for the price. They work okay as general food containers to keep flakes or pellets from floating into filters. But if you're buying these specifically for bloodworms or similar live foods as advertised? Save your money.
The suction cups hold well and the plastic feels durable enough. I'll probably repurpose them as target feeding spots for shy fish rather than live food dispensers. It's a shame because with slightly larger holes, these could've been perfect for my bloodworm feedings.
