As someone who's obsessed with acrylic pouring, I was thrilled to test the Australian Floetrol. The moment I opened the bottle (carefully - more on packaging later), that translucent white liquid felt like potential waiting to happen.
The GOOD: This stuff creates INSANE cells in pour paintings. Compared to the US version, it's like switching from dial-up to fiber optic - the cell formation is noticeably superior. When mixed with my Amsterdam acrylics, it created beautiful organic patterns that made my abstract pieces look professional.
The OKAY: It does have a learning curve. My first attempt was a sticky mess until I found the right paint-to-Floetrol ratio (about 3:1 worked best for me). The consistency reminds me of slightly thickened milk - not too runny, not too sticky when you get it right.
The BAD: That packaging! Mine arrived with the envelope soaked through (luckily only lost about 10%). At this price point ($30+), they should use proper boxes. Also, delivery took forever - not ideal when you're mid-project.
PRO TIP: Use silicone oil WITH Floetrol for next-level cells. The combo creates these gorgeous crater effects that clients keep raving about in my Etsy shop.
Final verdict? If you're serious about acrylic pouring, it's worth hunting for deals (check local art stores before Amazon). While pricey, the results speak for themselves - just maybe order before you actually need it!
