After installing the ASK1501W ceiling heater in my own bathroom, I've got mixed feelings. On one hand, it's surprisingly quiet – you barely notice it humming away while getting ready in the morning. The metal construction feels premium compared to plastic alternatives, and the sleek design blends well with most ceilings.
However, heating performance is where things get tricky. In my moderately sized bathroom (about 60 sq ft), it struggled to prevent mirror fogging after showers. The warm air rising effect means you'll feel most heat near the ceiling rather than where you need it. It works better as supplemental heat rather than a primary source.
Installation was straightforward for someone with DIY experience, but hiring an electrician added significant cost ($250+). The unit requires careful thermostat pairing – the programmable STP-ST402PFF made a noticeable difference in performance versus basic models.
Bottom line: Works decently for small spaces needing mild warmth, but don't expect powerful heating. Best for those prioritizing quiet operation over raw heating power.
