I never knew I needed this silicone clip-on strainer until I tried it. The first time I used it to drain pasta, I was shocked by how effortless it was—no more balancing a heavy pot over a bulky colander in the sink. It clipped onto my saucepan like it was made for it (and technically, it was).
The clips are sturdier than they look—they grip pots of all sizes without slipping, though I did notice thicker rims require a bit more finesse. My 3-quart and 6-quart pots? Perfect fit. My tiny milk warmer? Not so much, but that’s a niche complaint.
Cleaning is where this thing shines. Toss it in the dishwasher, and boom—done. No scrubbing crevices like with metal strainers. Though fair warning: my cream-colored one picked up a faint gray tint after a few cycles (a quick wipe fixed it). Small price to pay for not having to dig out my old clunky colander from the abyss under my stove.
It’s not flawless—the straining area could be deeper to prevent the occasional rogue penne from escaping—but for $12? Absolute steal. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to drain quinoa without dirtying another bowl.
