I've been using the meross Smart Plug Mini for a few months now, and it's become an essential part of my daily routine. The setup was surprisingly easy—just plug it in, scan the QR code with Apple HomeKit, and boom, it's ready to go. No hub needed, which is a huge plus for someone like me who hates extra clutter.
One of my favorite features is the voice control. I use Siri to turn on my bedside lamp every morning without even lifting a finger. It’s also great for those lazy evenings when I’m already cozy on the couch and realize I forgot to turn off the kitchen lights. A quick command to Alexa, and problem solved.
The compact design is another win. Unlike some other smart plugs I’ve tried, these don’t block adjacent outlets. I can fit two of them in a single power strip, which is perfect for my home office setup. Plus, they’re sturdy and feel well-made—no flimsy plastic here.
I’ve set up schedules for my lamps to turn on at sunset and off at bedtime, which not only saves energy but also makes my place feel lived-in when I’m away. The sunrise/sunset feature is a game-changer.
That said, there are a couple of quirks. The side button is a bit awkward to press, and my less tech-savvy roommate struggled with it at first. Also, firmware updates require the meross app, which feels like an unnecessary extra step since Apple HomeKit handles everything else so seamlessly.
Overall, though, these plugs are reliable, affordable, and incredibly convenient. If you’re deep into the Apple ecosystem or just want an easy way to automate your home, they’re definitely worth considering.
