Okay, so my Xfinity setup was a HOT MESS. Pixelated TV, internet crawling slower than my grandma's dial-up, and Comcast tech support? Uselessss. They wanted to charge me $100 just to send someone out. NOPE.
Enter this little magic box! Plugged it in before all my splitters (I have like 6 TVs and a maze of cables under my house) and BAM - crystal clear HD and internet that actually works. Like... why didn't I buy this sooner?
Pro tip though: This thing gets WARM. Like 'might-melt-a-snowman' warm. I stuck some cheap heatsink fins on the back just to be safe. Also, don't be dumb like me - the power port is clearly marked but the other connections had me scratching my head for a solid 10 minutes.
After a week? Zero dropouts (used to happen daily), upstream power levels dropped from scary-high to perfect range, and my download speeds are actually FASTER than what I'm paying for? Shhh don't tell Comcast!
Only giving 4 stars because: 1) No instructions (come on Arris!), 2) Gets hotter than Miami in July, and 3) If your cables are actually chewed up by raccoons or something, this is just a band-aid fix.
Bottom line: If you're fighting with your cable company about weak signals, try this BEFORE letting them charge you for unnecessary service calls. Just maybe keep some ice cream money aside too - you'll want to celebrate when it works!
