So, I decided to give Sage 50 Pro Accounting 2023 a try for my small business, and boy, do I have some thoughts.
First off, the promise of 'trusted accounting' is a bit shaky. The payroll feature? Yeah, it's included in the box, but good luck figuring out how much it actually costs. Spent 30 minutes on hold and still no answers. Not cool.
The data transfer from QuickBooks was a nightmare. My previously closed accounts suddenly had ridiculous balances, and my current account was off by $1.4 million. Like, how does that even happen? Now I have to manually fix everything because the beginning balance data can't be edited. Fun times.
And don't even get me started on customer support. They couldn't find my account, locked me out of my own program, and then had the nerve to ask if I wanted to pay for a service contract. Like, how am I supposed to pay if you can't even find my account? Total ransom situation.
On the bright side, the inventory management is decent. It's easy to track what you have and create purchase orders. But honestly, that's not enough to make up for the headaches.
Bottom line: If you're considering Sage 50 Pro, maybe look elsewhere unless you're ready for some serious frustration.
