Just got my hands on the Irish Setter Wingshooter boots, and wow—these are legit. First off, the waterproof design is no joke. Walked through some muddy trails after rain, and my feet stayed bone-dry. The full-grain leather feels tough but molds to your feet after a few wears.
The traction? Insane. The Prairie outsole grips like it’s got a personal vendetta against slippery terrain. Even on loose gravel, I felt like a mountain goat—zero slips.
Comfort is where these really shine. The removable footbed and nylon lining kept my feet from sweating buckets during an all-day hunt. And despite the steel shank (which adds crazy stability), they’re lighter than my old hiking boots. No calf fatigue, even after miles.
Only gripe? They run narrow. Had to exchange for a wide size (EE), but once I did, perfection. Snug with regular socks, roomy enough for wool ones after break-in.
Verdict: If you’re debating these vs. pricier brands like Thorogood—stop. These deliver Redwing quality without murdering your wallet. 10/10 would stomp through swamps again.
