Let me start by saying this cookbook is like a box of chocolates – you never know what you're gonna get. Some recipes are absolute gems, while others leave you scratching your head in confusion.
The biggest issue? The complete lack of standardization. One recipe might specify loaf size in pounds, another in slices, and some give no indication at all. For someone trying to use this with their Cuisinart machine (you know, the whole point), this is incredibly frustrating.
Organization is another pain point. Want to find all sourdough recipes? Good luck! They're scattered throughout the book mixed with other types. The index isn't much help either – that 'here' reference instead of actual page numbers had me flipping through pages like a mad baker.
But here's the thing – when you do find a good recipe, it's REALLY good. That Luscious White Bread? Absolute perfection. I've tried about six recipes so far, and four were keepers that I'll make again and again.
The variety is impressive – 300 recipes means you'll never get bored. But be prepared to play detective with some of them. It's clear the author knows bread making, but needed a much better editor to make this truly useful for bread machine users.
Would I recommend it? If you're patient and don't mind some trial and error, yes – there are great recipes here. But if you want a perfectly organized, machine-specific guide, look elsewhere.
