After 4 months of daily use, this printer is a mixed bag. The refillable ink tanks are GENUINELY revolutionary—I’ve printed over 500 pages and the original ink still hasn’t run out. That ‘2 years of ink’ claim? Surprisingly legit for moderate home use.
The print quality punches above its price point. Family photos come out shockingly vibrant (that included photo paper is decent too), though text docs occasionally show minor streaking if you don’t use ‘best quality’ mode.
Setup was painless—had it printing from my iPhone via the HP Smart app in under 15 minutes. But here’s the catch: the Wi-Fi is flakier than a croissant. Like other reviewers, I constantly have to power-cycle it when it randomly drops connection mid-print job.
The sleep mode issue is REAL. If it naps longer than 30 minutes, prepare to physically reboot it. Super annoying when printing late-night work documents.
Speed? Don’t expect office-level performance. A 10-page color document takes ≈7 minutes—fine for homework, frustrating for last-minute presentations.
Biggest win? The economics. Compared to my old cartridge printer, I’ve already saved ≈$80 on ink. Just temper expectations—this is a $200 printer, not a commercial beast.
