As someone who recently started a worm composting bin in my apartment, I found this book to be both helpful and frustrating. The content is packed with practical vermiculture knowledge, but the presentation leaves much to be desired.
The troubleshooting section saved me when my worms started trying to escape - turns out I was overfeeding them! The book clearly explained how to adjust feeding schedules and bedding moisture. This hands-on advice made the difference between giving up and successfully maintaining my farm.
However, the numerous typos and lack of visuals were disappointing. When describing worm bin setups, written explanations alone weren't enough - I had to search online for reference images. The single included photo looks like it was taken with a 2005 flip phone.
Despite its flaws, I keep returning to this book because the core information is solid. It's become my stained, dog-eared reference that sits next to my worm bin. Just don't expect a polished publication - this feels more like getting notes from an experienced worm farmer than reading a professionally edited guide.
