Just got back from a 2-week trip to China using this 15-day SIM card, and it was mostly smooth sailing. The 5GB high-speed data lasted me the entire trip (even with heavy Google Maps and Instagram usage), and I loved that it worked in both mainland China AND Macau without switching cards.
The 'plug-and-play' feature is legit - popped it into my unlocked iPhone at Shanghai airport and had internet within seconds. No registration headaches like some local SIMs require. Biggest win? Full access to Google, WhatsApp, and Instagram despite China's firewall. Felt like a digital superhero bypassing restrictions!
Two quirks though: 1) The included SIM eject tool was useless - ended up using a paperclip like other reviewers mentioned. 2) Had one scary moment where service dropped in rural Zhejiang province, but rebooting my phone fixed it.
Pro tip: Download offline maps before arrival just in case. And yes - the free US test data actually worked when I landed back in LAX, which was a nice bonus for ordering an Uber home.
Would I buy again? Absolutely - still beats airport SIM prices by miles. Just pack a paperclip!
