Okay, so I've been using these TBS stations for FIVE YEARS now. Crazy how time flies when you're playing termite detective! Here's the real tea:
First off - YES, they work. Saved me from paying $400/year to some pest control company that'd just glance at my house once a year. The stations look identical to what the pros use, but way cheaper long-term.
Installation pro tip: Get yourself a flower bulb auger (2.75" diameter). Made digging holes SO easy with a regular drill. Had to dodge some sprinkler lines and one stubborn rock, but overall pretty straightforward.
The wood blocks do rot eventually (thanks Florida rains!), so budget for replacements every few years. Not perfect, but still beats paying for professional service.
Funny story - when I finally found termites? Those little buggers HATE light! Opened one station to find it crawling with larvae... by the time I ran inside to grab poison cartridges, most had vanished like magic. Lesson learned: be QUICK when you spot activity!
Would I recommend? Absolutely - but do your homework first. Watch installation videos, space them properly (I did every 10ft), and maybe get that special opening tool if you hate fumbling with screwdrivers.
