Let me start by saying, this little camera packs a punch! The Hiicam Speed 20 has been my go-to gadget for capturing everything from weekend hikes to underwater snorkeling trips. The dual-screen setup is genius - the front screen makes vlogging and selfies a breeze, while the rear touchscreen is surprisingly responsive.
The 4K video quality is impressive for the price point. I've taken it mountain biking, and the EIS stabilization really does smooth out those bumpy trails. Footage stays crisp even when I'm moving fast. That said, don't expect GoPro-level quality - there's some noticeable fish-eye effect at the edges in wide-angle mode.
What really surprised me was the waterproof performance. I've taken it down to about 30 feet while scuba diving, and the housing kept everything perfectly dry. The included wireless remote (though not waterproof) is super convenient for starting/stopping recordings when the camera's mounted on my helmet or bike.
Battery life is decent with the two included batteries - I get about 2 hours per battery shooting in 4K. The app works well for transferring files, though it can be a bit slow with larger video files.
My biggest gripe? No included memory card (come on!) and the digital zoom is pretty much useless - stick to shooting at native resolution. Also, low-light performance could be better.
For under $100 though? This is hands-down the best budget action cam I've used. It won't replace professional gear, but for casual adventurers or families wanting to capture memories without breaking the bank, it's perfect.
