I've been using the FREESEA Floating Fish Feeding Ring for my betta tank, and it's been a mixed bag. The concept is brilliant – it keeps flakes from scattering everywhere thanks to my filter's current. My betta, Mr. Bubbles, used to chase stray flakes like they were playing hide-and-seek. Now? He's learned this is his personal dinner plate.
The suction cup holds surprisingly well (unlike other reviewers' experiences), but I did notice food sticks to the sides where Mr. Bubbles can't see it. Every few days I have to lift it out and wipe off this weird biofilm – kinda gross but necessary.
Here's the kicker though – like several reviewers, I ordered the square version but got a round one instead. For my 10-gallon betta tank it works fine, but I can see how goldfish owners would struggle with the smaller size. When Mr. Bubbles gets excited during feeding time, his splashing still manages to sink some flakes outside the ring.
Would I recommend it? Yes, but with caveats: perfect for small tanks and bettas if you don't mind cleaning it regularly. Just don't be surprised if you get a different shape than advertised!
