After setting up the ANNKE 8-camera security system, I can confidently say it's a reliable option for home surveillance. The 5MP resolution delivers crisp, clear footage during the day, and the night vision performs admirably up to around 70 feet - though don't expect the full advertised 100ft range.
The installation process was surprisingly smooth. The quick-connect mounting system saved me hours of frustration, and being able to reuse existing cables from my old system was a huge bonus. The cameras feel sturdy with their IP67 rating, and they've held up well against wind and rain in my testing.
Where this system really shines is the mobile app functionality. Remote access works flawlessly, allowing me to check camera feeds from anywhere. The human/vehicle detection feature significantly reduces false alarms compared to basic motion detection systems.
That said, there are some quirks. The documentation is minimal at best, and configuring notifications can be frustrating - you'll either get too many alerts or miss important ones unless you spend time fine-tuning settings. Also be aware that only four cameras can use the advanced smart event features.
For the price point, this system offers excellent value. While not perfect, it provides robust security coverage with good image quality and reliable performance that outperforms many more expensive systems I've tested.
