Okay, so I've been on a mission to ditch plastic in my kids' lunchboxes, and these Tanjiae containers seemed like the perfect solution. Here's the real deal after using them for a month.
First off - they're ADORABLE. The stainless steel has this sleek look that makes snack time feel fancy. My 4-year-old calls them her 'princess boxes' which is hilarious because they're literally just... metal cups.
The leak-proof claim? LEGIT. We've tested with yogurt, applesauce, even spaghetti sauce (don't ask) - zero spills in the lunch bag. Though fair warning - getting those silicone lids on perfectly takes some practice. My husband still struggles with it!
Size-wise, they're perfect for kid portions but I wish there was a bigger option too. Great for goldfish crackers, berries, or cut-up veggies - not so great if you're packing a whole sandwich.
Cleaning is a breeze (dishwasher safe!) though the colored lids do stain from tomato-based foods. Not a dealbreaker but worth mentioning.
Biggest win? My kindergartener can actually open and close these herself unlike some other 'kid-friendly' containers we've tried. That alone makes them worth every penny.
Would I buy again? Already did! Got another set for my husband's work lunches. Just hoping they come out with more colors soon!
