As a huge One Piece fan, I was thrilled to get my hands on this Going Merry building set. The excitement of recreating the Straw Hat Pirates' first ship was real!

The ABS plastic feels surprisingly high-quality - smooth to the touch with no rough edges. When completed, the 7.4-inch model looks absolutely stunning on my anime shelf, capturing all the iconic details of the Going Merry.

However, be warned: these aren't your typical Lego-sized pieces. The micro blocks are TINY - like smaller-than-a-pea tiny! My fingers felt like giant clumsy sausages trying to assemble them. Several times I had to walk away in frustration when pieces wouldn't stay connected.

The instructions could definitely be improved. Instead of clear step-by-step guidance, you're often shown a completed section without explanation of how to build it. It's like being given a puzzle with half the reference image missing.

That said, when we finally completed it (after much swearing and one missing piece that customer service promptly replaced), the sense of accomplishment was incredible. Seeing Luffy's iconic ship come together made all the frustration worth it for this One Piece superfan.

Would I recommend it? Only for patient adult collectors or very dedicated older teens. This isn't a casual build - it's a labor of love that requires serious commitment (and possibly magnifying glasses). But if you survive the process, you'll have an amazing display piece that sparks joy every time you see it.
