Okay, so I finally caved and got the Denon Home 150 – and wow, this little black box is sneaky good! Setup was stupid easy with the HEOS app (and I’m usually the person who cries over router manuals).
The sound? For something this size, it punches way above its weight. Crisp highs, decent bass (though I toned it down in the EQ – personal preference). Not gonna replace my audiophile cousin’s $2000 setup, but for casual listening? Chef’s kiss.
Multi-room magic is where it shines though. Synced two with my existing Denon gear – now my morning podcast follows me from kitchen to shower like a creepy-but-welcome stalker. AirPlay 2 just works (shocking in 2024, right?).
Pet peeve: Why no battery option? Moving it to my balcony means reboot theater. Also the price – cute but not THAT cute. Wait for a sale unless you’re building a whole Denon ecosystem like me.
Verdict: 4/5 stars. It’s the reliable friend who shows up with great playlists but won’t help you move furniture.
