After testing the Vicaptom doorbell mount for a month with my Ring Battery Doorbell Plus (2023), I'm impressed by its versatility but found some quirks worth mentioning.
The Good: The no-drill clamp installation is GENIUS for renters. I mounted it on my apartment door in under 10 seconds - no landlord approval needed! The 45° adjustable angle gave me perfect coverage of my narrow hallway (bye-bye blind spots). Unlike cheaper mounts, this doesn't block motion sensors - my package deliveries are always detected.
Real-World Surprise: That hidden anti-theft screw actually works! When my nosy neighbor tried 'adjusting' my doorbell angle, the mount stayed firmly in place. The plastic construction feels sturdy enough - I was skeptical at first, but it survived two thunderstorms without warping.
The Not-So-Good: The back protrudes about 1.5 inches. I had to install a $3 door stopper to prevent wall damage (they should include one!). The included foam padding works, but cutting it precisely for different doorbells is finicky - took me three tries with my Blink cam.
Pro Tip: If your door is thinner than 1.5 inches or made of metal (like storm doors), skip this - it won't clamp securely. For everyone else? At under $20, this solves the 'I want security without permanent installation' dilemma perfectly.
