Okay, so I took the plunge and installed this 30 sqft heating mat in my bathroom last winter. Best. Decision. Ever.
The installation wasn't as scary as I thought! The double-sided tape kept everything flat while I worked, and the 1/8" thick cables made tiling over them way easier than expected. Pro tip: use different trowel sizes for areas with/without the mat to keep tiles level.
That digital thermostat? Game changer. It's got all these fancy programmable options (took me one Netflix episode with the manual to figure it out). Now my floors are toasty warm by shower time without me lifting a finger.
Heat performance? *chef's kiss* Within 15 minutes I can feel warmth through my tiles. After an hour? Pure foot heaven. My partner - who used to hop across cold tiles like a cartoon character - is now a happy camper.
Only thing worth mentioning: if you're not comfy with electrical work, maybe get help for that part. But for DIYers? Totally manageable project with awesome results.
10/10 would recommend - already planning to install in our other bathroom!
