Just finished reading *Mama's Bank Account* and wow—what a gem! As someone who grew up hearing stories from my Norwegian grandma, this book hit me right in the nostalgia. The way Kathryn describes her mother’s quiet strength and humor? Pure magic. Also, low-key cried during the 'hospital coins' chapter.
Side note: Tried reading it aloud to my cat (don’t judge), and even she stopped ignoring me for a solid 10 minutes. That’s how you know it’s good.
Perfect for: • Anyone who ever had a stubborn-but-loving parent • Fans of *Little House on the Prairie* vibes • People who think ‘character-building’ means actual characters (not gym memberships)
PS – The used copy I bought smells vaguely of cinnamon rolls. Coincidence? I think not.
