Let me start by saying I had high hopes for the gofidin Air Conditioner Cleaning Cover. The idea of a universal cover to protect my walls during AC cleaning sounded brilliant. But reality hit hard when I unboxed this product.
The first red flag? The material feels like a cheap disposable poncho you'd get at a dollar store. It's thin, flimsy, and I could already see light through it before even using it. Not exactly what you want when dealing with dirty water runoff.
Setting it up was another nightmare. The drain tube assembly might as well have been a puzzle from hell - impossible to get leak-proof without resorting to super glue (yes, I had to do that too). And that tiny drain tube? It clogged within minutes of use, turning the whole cover into a saggy water balloon.
The elastic straps are laughably weak. As dirty water accumulated (because of course the tiny tube couldn't handle the flow), the weight stretched them out until the whole contraption started slipping off my AC unit. I spent more time retying knots in the straps than actually cleaning.
The only positive? It did somewhat contain the initial splashes... until the inevitable failure point when everything would come pouring out anyway. For small window units, it might work if you're doing a very quick clean, but for anything substantial, forget about it.
Final verdict: This is one of those products where you truly get what you pay for - which isn't much. Save your money and either invest in a higher quality cover or just use old towels and buckets like we did before these existed.
