Just got my hands on the EBL Smart Charger, and here's the scoop after a week of use.
The Good: Love the LCD display—it’s way better than my old charger’s vague LED light. Charges AA/AAA batteries in under 3 hours, and the discharge function is a nice touch for battery maintenance. Also, it actually detects bad batteries (unlike my last one, which just… pretended everything was fine).
The Annoying: The power cord refuses to stay plugged in unless I wrestle with it or use a rubber band (seriously, EBL?). Also, the slots for AAA batteries feel loose—like they’re judging my shaky hands every time I load them.
The Ugly: After a year, my 9V charging stopped working. Major bummer since that was half the reason I bought it. And don’t get me started on their 'super fast' claim—my ancient Ray-O-Vac charger still wins that race.
Verdict: It’s decent for AA/AAA/C/D batteries if you baby it, but temper your expectations. 3/5 stars.
