Just got my hands on the Saris M2 trainer, and here's my honest take after a few weeks of use!
Setup & Assembly: Took me about 30 minutes—the compression bolt was a bit finicky, but the illustrations helped. Pro tip: Keep a rubber mallet handy for stubborn parts!
Ride Feel: Surprisingly stable even when sprinting at 1000W. The electromagnetic resistance mimics real hills well, though flat terrain feels tougher than outdoor riding (good for training!).
Tech Stuff: Bluetooth pairing with Zwift was instant. The auto-calibration feature (via Saris app) is genius—doesn’t feel like a budget trainer at all.
Annoyances: • Noise hits 69dB at high speeds (like a loud dishwasher) • Thru-axle adapters aren’t included—had to buy separately • Tire wear is real; considering a dedicated trainer tire
Verdict: For half the price of direct-drive trainers, this folds small and delivers where it counts. Perfect for apartment dwellers who want smart features without breaking the bank!
