I recently got my hands on the Philips 6-Outlet Wi-Fi Surge Protector, and here's my honest take after using it for a while.
The good stuff first: The braided cord is sturdy, and the 8 ft length gives plenty of flexibility for placement. I love the individual control via the Philips SmartSelect app—turning off my gaming setup with a tap feels futuristic. Voice control with Alexa is seamless, and the always-on outlets are perfect for devices that need constant power.
But... it’s not all sunshine. Like many reviewers, I faced issues. After about 5 months, one of the smart outlets started acting up—randomly clicking and disconnecting. The app became unresponsive, and resetting didn’t help. Customer service? A nightmare. Long hold times, dead-end calls, and zero resolution.
For the price, I expected better durability. If you’re lucky, it works great—until it doesn’t. If reliability is key for you, maybe explore other brands with stronger track records.
