The Parker Jotter XL in matte black is a sleek, modern take on a classic. The monochrome design is undeniably stylish, and the larger size feels just right in hand—no more cramped fingers like with the regular Jotter.
Writing with it is smooth, thanks to Parker's Quinkflow ink. It glides effortlessly, making long note-taking sessions a breeze. The satisfying 'click' mechanism is as reliable as ever, and the matte finish resists scratches surprisingly well.
However, there's a big BUT here. For the premium price, I expected better construction. The plastic barrel insert feels cheap compared to older metal Jotters, and the clip has noticeable wiggle—not what you'd expect from Parker.
If you're buying for looks and comfortable writing, it's great. But if durability matters more, consider hunting down a vintage model instead.
