Okay, so I've tried A LOT of corned beef spice mixes, and Penzeys is hands down my favorite. That little 1.5 oz jar packs serious flavor!

First off - the aroma when you open it? Heavenly. Like someone bottled up St. Patrick's Day. I rub it all over my brisket (both sides, don't be shy!) and wrap it tight in foil with some water before slow cooking.

Pro tip from another reviewer that works: 3 layers of foil is the magic number. I do 4 hours in the crockpot and the meat comes out so tender it practically melts.

What I love most is that the flavor isn't overpowering - just gives that perfect traditional corned beef taste. And you don't need much! This little jar lasts me through several briskets.
