Okay, so I grabbed these walkie talkies for our family camping trips, and here's the real tea ☕️
First off - that bright yellow color? Genius. I've dropped these in grass, mud, and even a creek (oops), and they're always easy to spot. The 10KM range claim is... optimistic though. We got about 3KM max in the woods before things got staticky.
The NOAA weather alerts actually saved our butts when a surprise storm rolled in last trip! But changing channels? Total nightmare. Had to YouTube how to do it because the manual might as well be in ancient hieroglyphics.
Battery life is decent - lasted 2 full days of moderate use. But that one reviewer who said theirs died unexpectedly? Same thing happened to me once. Now I always bring backup batteries.
For the price, they're not bad. Just don't expect military-grade equipment. My kids treat them like toys and they've survived so far! Would I buy again? Maybe... but I'm eyeing those Baofeng radios next time.
