Just watched EVEREST in 4K UHD and wow... the visuals are absolutely stunning. The snowstorms feel so real I had to grab a blanket!
The cast is phenomenal - Jason Clarke and Jake Gyllenhaal completely disappear into their roles. That scene where they're struggling in the storm? Had me holding my breath.
What I didn't expect was how emotional this would be. Knowing it's based on true events makes every decision feel so much heavier. Brought tissues - needed them.
The 4K transfer is insane. You can see every ice crystal and the HDR makes the mountain glow. Sound design is equally impressive - my subwoofer nearly died during the avalanche scenes.
Only gripe? Some CGI shots look a bit video-gamey, but that's maybe 5% of the film. The rest is pure cinematic magic.
Not sure I'll rewatch soon though - it's emotionally exhausting in the best way possible. 4.5/5 stars from me!
