Just finished Book 4 of the Murphy Shepherd series, and wow—Charles Martin never disappoints! These characters feel like old friends now. If you're new, start from Book 1; the journey through all four is worth every page.
This installment? Heart-wrenching and hopeful. The biblical metaphors hit deep, woven into every character's struggle. The only downside? It had to end. I wanted MORE rescues, more Freetown, more of that resilient love Martin writes so beautifully.
Action? Check. Mystery? Check. A love story that’ll wreck you? Double-check. Fair warning: you’ll cry, cheer, and stay up way too late. And yes, I’m already begging for Book 5.
Minor gripe: some repetition from earlier books (I skimmed those bits). But the core story? Powerful. Tackles evil like sex trafficking with grace—no graphic violence, just raw truth that lingers. Made me wonder: Are there real-life Murphys out there saving the lost?
Final verdict? Five stars PLUS. If you crave a series with soul, faith, and characters who stick with you, this is it. Just clear your schedule—you won’t put it down.
