Let me start by saying this book had me laughing so hard I nearly had an accident. The humor is THAT good. Trying to read my favorite passage to my husband was a disaster—I couldn’t get through it without tears streaming down my face. He was laughing before I even finished, which says a lot.
The characters are what make this book shine. Rose and Wendy’s journey of self-discovery—while navigating their new, partly undead lives—is both relatable and absurdly entertaining. The author perfectly captures the chaos of midlife, just with added magic, zombies, and a talking raven (yes, really).
One of the best parts? The friendships. The way these women support each other through their supernatural messes is heartwarming and hilarious. The romance and family dynamics add just the right amount of drama and humor.
That said, the book isn’t perfect. Wendy’s constant self-doubt got a bit exhausting, and the "partially dead" thing still confuses me. But the crazy twists, unexpected plot turns, and laugh-out-loud moments more than make up for it.
If you’re looking for a fun, fast-paced read with magic, mayhem, and midlife madness, this is it. Just maybe don’t read it in public—unless you’re okay with people staring as you cackle uncontrollably.
