Okay, so I got this Tuya WiFi door sensor hoping it would make my life easier. Here's the real tea after using it for a couple weeks:
First off, the GOOD: Super easy to install—just slapped it on with the included 3M tape. No tools, no drama. The app alerts work pretty well too; I get notifications when my fridge door is left open (bye-bye spoiled milk!). Works with Alexa and Google Home, though Alexa takes her sweet time (20-second delay) to announce door statuses.
Now the NOT-SO-GOOD: Had one unit arrive totally defective—Alexa just kept yelling 'Battery is 100' like a broken record. Seller replaced it fast though (shoutout to Gaoducash!). Also, if your door has thick trim, the magnets might not align right, and the sensor becomes a decorative piece. Oh, and the battery-level feature? Lies. It’ll claim 100% even with dead batteries.
Verdict: Solid for casual use (like monitoring fridge doors), but if you need military-grade reliability (or have escape-artist kids/pets), maybe splurge on Ring. For $20 though? Not bad.
