Just unboxed the Banana Pi BPI-R4, and wow, this thing is packed with features! The MediaTek MT7988A SoC is a beast, handling everything from 4K streaming to NAS setups without breaking a sweat. The quad-core ARM Cortex-A73 CPU and 4GB DDR4 RAM make multitasking a breeze.
The WiFi 7 support is a game-changer. With dual-band connectivity and support for 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz, my home network has never been faster. Streaming, gaming, and remote work are all lag-free experiences now.
Love the flexibility of the 2x 10GbE SFP and 4x Gigabit Ethernet ports. Perfect for my home server setup and future-proofing my network. The OpenWRT support is a huge plus, giving me full control over my network settings.
One minor gripe: the SIM card trays weren’t included, which was a bit of a hassle. Had to improvise with a credit card before finding compatible trays. Also, only SIM slot 1 works out of the three.
Overall, the BPI-R4 is a versatile, high-performance router that’s perfect for tech enthusiasts. Whether you’re into home automation, NAS setups, or just want a blazing-fast network, this router delivers. Highly recommend!
