Okay, so I've had these Kasa dimmer switches for half a year now and here's the real tea ☕️
First off - the Matter compatibility is LEGIT. I can yell at Siri, Alexa AND Google to turn my lights on/off and they all listen (unlike my kids lol). The cross-platform thing actually works!
Installation was... interesting. The QR code stickers are clutch - don't lose them! Had to YouTube how to find my neutral wire (house built in 2001 so we good). The app literally holds your hand through setup though.
Dimming is smooth af - from horror movie dark to interrogation room bright with just a swipe. My favorite feature? Setting lights to randomly turn on/off when we're away. Take that, would-be burglars!
Only gripe - had one switch that kept blinking orange until I factory reset my whole smart home setup (dramatic, I know). But since then? Flawless.
Pro tip: Stick to one ecosystem (I chose Apple Home) even though it works with everything. Less headache that way.
Final verdict? 9/10 - would smart home again. Just make sure you've got that neutral wire!
